History of Zeta Nu Zeta Chapter
On Friday, January 3, 1964, eight Zeta members gathered together, at member Marie Clifton’s home, for the purpose of organizing an Inkster Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. The eight Zeta members, to receive the charter, were Jennie Wilkinson*, Addie Ruth Faulk, Hattie Black, Glennie Cox, Dorothy Butler, Mildred Mickels, Marie Clifton, and Maude Reid*. Immediately following their in-house election of officers, they went to the home of Deborah P. Wolfe, the National President at that time, and received the National Charter for the Inkster chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., to be named Zeta Nu Zeta. Zeta Nu Zeta was the third chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to be charted in the State of Michigan. Upon initiating members to the new Inkster chapter, gifts were presented via Ione Gibson, the Great Lakes Regional Director, during that time, along with visiting Zeta members of the sorority. As part of the Great Lakes Region, we are proud to be among the many growing chapters, within the nine regions, of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
